I thought I would share a few photos of a knitting project in travel mode. The project currently on my needles is “Alfred” by Norwegian knitwear designer Wiola.
The photos below show how I manage to keep my knitting organized while traveling. When I bring along a stranded knitting project, one color is threaded through the hole on the side of the box and the second color is run over the edge. Closing the lid lightly, helps keep the second strand in place.
As I knit, everything stays tidy and tangle-free. The shoebox also holds my pattern and provides a convenient place to store my project at day’s end. When it’s time to head home, I simply fold the box flat and tuck it into my suitcase.

This is a great idea, more so when traveling!
On this trip a second shoe box stores a supported spindle and fibre. Very handy.
